Great bottles; I bought two boxes of these for storing the milk in the freezer. Very convenient to use. My only issue is, they are too expensive (hence 4 stars only). I know bags are probably cheaper alternative; however, I don't want to risk the milk leaking or the bag breaking. I am starting to buy these bottles from Target (in store); they charge $4 less per box. (They add up!! Especially if you are buying lots of them.)

These bottles are great and super easy to use and clean. My one grip is that they're somewhat costly, especially considering that I store 10oz of milk a day, which equates to 4 bottles (each bottle is 2.5oz). If I didn't also use the plastic Medela freezer bags, I'd have to purchase a box every three days.

I love these! What a great invention! They fit really well onto my Medela Swing breast pump. I refridgerate and freeze in these containers, and I can put the nipple right on the top. There are no need for bottles with these.

I bought these for I needed more bottles to store freezer breastmilk. If you are going to use them also for feeding I found the nipples to flow to quickly for my little one. I used a different bottle for feeding and wish I would have gotten nestmom.com website before purchasing as I got their mother milkmate storage system for 27.00. It includes 10 5oz bottles and a handy rack for the freezer keeping oldest milk in front. The 27 also includes shipping - The bottles fit on both medela and ameda breast pumps. It is well worth the money and wish I hadn't bought the medela bottles as they are no longer being used.

I like all the Medela products, but this came with a few items that I really didn't need. On the plus side, the bottles are sturdy, the caps seal tightly, and the whole thing works with the 'pump in style' breast pump I was using. Also, the nipple-rings are great and work with any brand of nipple you buy. The bottles are also great for freezing milk.
On the negative side, the little discs that go with the nipple rings that they include to create a 'temporary' cap is pretty useless. I wish they had just provided a few more 'full' caps which provide a better seal.
Also, the nipples for all the Medela products were never a favorite with my son, though that might be a personally preference of his. I just use the Playtex or Evenflo nipples with these bottles, and they work just fine.
Last, for some reason, the other caps they provide that are supposed to fit over the nipple & nipple-ring never really fit, so it would often leak out into the diaper bag.

We purchased these bottles as a way to store breastmilk so my husband could enjoy feeding our son. After I had difficulty nursing, I stopped breastfeeding when our son was 2 months old. These bottles proved more valuable than I had thought. They are great for moms who want to continue to give their babies the benefits of breastfeeding but are unable to. I love them because they were great for pumping because they fit right onto any Medela pump, then you can either use it to feed your baby by adding the nipple, or store it in the fridge or freezer. I especially liked them because it had markings in ounces to let me know how much I pumped. I never had to guess if my son was getting enough milk. The nipple appeared to give our son the same feeling as if he were breastfeeding. These containers are great BECAUSE OF the size. First of all, they are perfectly sized for newborns. And, once your baby gets a little older, and requires more milk, these 2.5 oz. containers are the perfect supplement to combine with a 5oz storage bag when thawing to make a bottle. Other reviewers claim these containers are "awkward," but I would suggest not pumping directly into them. If you own a Medela pump, or the like, simply pump into the 5oz container that comes with the pump and transfer into the smaller storage container(s) for freezing. I always make sure my mother in law/nanny has 12 frozen Medela (2.5 oz) containers of milk at her place (in deep freeze) in case my baby needs a "snack" if I am running late to pick him up after work. Oh, and they are BPA-free. Bonus. I highly recommend these.

When this package arrived, I was very disappointed to see "not for use with Single Deluxe or Freestyle breast pumps" written in very small print on the front of the package. I assumed that because the product was made by Medela and claimed to be "compatible with ALL Medela breast pumps," it would be compatible with my Medela Freestyle Breast pump.

I agree with other reviewers that it would be MUCH better if these bottles were bigger. If I'm puming after a feeding or something they're fine, but if I'm pumping in place of a feeding, I generally pump about 6 oz which is just enough that the bottles won't hold it all, but also enough that if I try to switch bottles I wind up with two bottles that only have a quarter z or so each in them. It's annoying. And maybe I'm missing something, but it doesn't seem like you can buy the larger collection bottles separately - you either have to get them with a kit, or with a feeding and storage set, either way you're paying for additional parts you don't need. The plusses though are these things come pre-sterilized and the small size has some advantages - topping off a newborn who only needs an ounce or two, or pre-measuring a couple of ounces of breastmilk to mix with cereal, for example.
